The Lions Club of Donnybrook sincerely thanks the community of Donnybrook Balingup for
their over whelming support and patronage of the Container Refund Point during the three
years since the Club began it’s operation.
We particularly thank all of those wonderfully community minded friends who generously
supported us establishing the facility and those others who later volunteered their time and
energy assisting our members make the operation such a success.
There is no doubt our environment has been the ultimate benefactor of this endeavour.
During this time, the staggering number of approximately 7.6 million containers have been
processed by this facility. It is estimated that about 30 percent of these would have found
their way to landfill, rather than being recycled with the remaining 70 percent. That is a
massive benefit to us all.
However, the time has come for us to move on. The operation has now been transferred to
the business Cash4Cans, allowing the Lions Club to again apply itself more fully to
supporting our community and to initiating other projects.
We offer Cash4Cans all our support in continuing the operation of the Container Refund
Point and ask our community to continue theirs also. Again, we extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to all for their wonderful support and
encouragement to us for establishing and operating this enterprise.
