The Donnybrook community welcomed a special visit from the Lions Hearing Foundation Mobile Screening Unit, offering free hearing checks right in the heart of town. Parked next to the heritage Donnybrook Railway Station, the Lions Hearing Bus was on site to provide a convenient, confidential, and professional hearing screening service to locals of all ages.
The mobile unit is operated by the Lions Hearing Foundation in partnership with Lions Clubs of WA and supported by community sponsors. Their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure early detection and better awareness of hearing loss—particularly in regional and rural communities where access to specialist services may be limited.
Throughout the day, trained staff and dedicated Lions volunteers welcomed walk-in visitors, answered questions, and carried out quick screenings designed to identify possible hearing concerns. For many, it was a chance to take the first step toward better hearing health, with referrals and information provided for those needing follow-up care.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Lions Hearing Foundation and the local Lions volunteers who made this event possible. Their work continues to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families across WA.
If you missed out this time, don’t worry—the Lions Hearing Bus visits communities across the state regularly. Follow our page and keep an eye out for upcoming dates when the bus will return to the region.
