On 27 June 2025, the Donnybrook Lions Club gathered at the Donnybrook Hotel to celebrate one of the most important events on our calendar — Changeover Night. This annual tradition marks the official handover to a new board of directors, while also recognising the incredible service and achievements of our members and volunteers over the past year.
It was a night filled with pride and gratitude as we reflected on another successful year of community service. The evening’s formalities were led by the First Vice District Governor, Tom Overby, who carried out the official induction of our new board for the 2025–2026 term. The Shire President, Vivienne MacCarthy, offered a warm and thoughtful toast to Lions International, acknowledging the local and global impact of Lions clubs around the world.

A special highlight of the evening was the induction of our club’s newest member, Tamara Busson, who was warmly welcomed into the Lions family by her sponsor, Lion Steve Garton. We are thrilled to have Tamara join us and look forward to the energy and ideas she will bring to the club.
Further honours on the night included the presentation of the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award to Lion Irene Camarri, in recognition of her exceptional humanitarian service. Irene also received her 15-Year Monarch Chevron, celebrating her longstanding commitment to the Donnybrook Lions Club.

Lion Steve Garton, our dedicated Club Lion Tamer, was also presented with a beautiful Lions clock — a meaningful gift to be proudly displayed in our club den, recognising his valued contribution to the club.
We proudly presented Year Pins to our long-serving members, honouring dedicated service that ranges from 14 years all the way up to 52 years. These pins symbolise the enduring spirit of volunteering and the heart of Lions service. In addition, thoughtful thank-you gifts were given to all our fantastic volunteers who support the club in so many vital ways.
